This is a great resource for introductory optical introductikn courses. Revised chapters on optical theory discuss the petrographic mineraogy, the nature and properties of light, the behavior of light in isotropic and anisotropic materials, and uniaxial and biaxial anisotropic optics.

I’d recommend using this book with a different color chart.
The fourth edition of Introduction to Optical Mineralogy has been thoroughly revised and updated to increase reading comprehension and improve the clarity of its illustrations.
