Val grows, changes, and emerges from one state of existence to another fulfilling state. Grace Burrowes’ books just keep getting better. I’m still giving The Heir three stars, but four for the others. This is a good thing, as the first three books in the Windham series are basically the same plot, with different people and virtjoso. All of her Regency romances have received extensive praise, including starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist.

The gracw letter that resulted in “the call” started out: It transports readers back into English Regency time and immerses them in vicarious experiences with Valentine and Ellen. Ahh, Grace Burrowes writing is comfort food for the romantic soul. Review “Reminiscent of the heroines in Amanda Quick’s romances The series is like eating a whole box of chocolate. Book three of the Windham family is another very good read.

Virtyoso arthritic problem arises in his hands and he is told by his physician friend to rest it and not play the piano until it heals.

It was hard to see why exactly Val liked her so much. Because I am not accustomed to seeing this level of male familiarity with each other in other authors’ books set in this time period, but then usually other authors don’t have this many male characters involved in each others’ lives over a book series where you would see this kind of prolonged personal interaction. Since I have read the other two books in this trilogy of the Windham brothers, I have become familiar with Burrowes’s style. It brings a bit of thrill to this romance and it is that which keep you going, because you just need to know what is going on, even when you have figured it out. Valentine Windham, youngest of five vituoso of a duke, has pinned his whole existence and identity upon his considerable talent on the piano. In reading the last of the series I loved the way she brought back characters from her first two books allowing the love affair to continue while engraving into your heart a new love.
