Tesuji – the book
Any suggestions on where to start from here? Robert, I’ll certainly keep your forthcoming book in mind. The generous amount of practice offered by Mastering the Basicscombined with problems that elemnetary very similar yet require a different answer due to a stone or two being moved, provide the student with abundant, high quality study material. They are all too advanced.
A book I like is Fundamental Principles of Go. Making Good Shape is accessible to all SDKs and more uniform in difficulty than the books listed above. Mon Dec 31, 5: I have read this book maybe 3 times cover to cover, but found it much more useful to read a chapter and then sereis some games trying to apply the tactics I had learned.
Tesuji – the book at Sensei’s Library
Out of print for more than 20 years, this edition has been extensively revised and rewritten. These problems are meant to expand on the theoretical discussions contained in the first chapters and to explore variations that were omitted in those chapters. There is no intent to copy the content of the thread from GoDiscussions. I’m 5k now and will continue to revisit it!
I suggest you to be patient and await my next book await its announcement in about one or two months, unless you are already 5k then: Read it through but be sure that this will yo only the first reading of this book which can be read and reread many times. Elementary Go Series
The weaker player who reads this chapter will no doubt pick up useful tips for countering White’s strategies. While I’ve read numerous other books, I do think that sries three have been the most enlightening and helpful books I’ve read.
Other books in the series. It shows various strategies that White can use when giving handicaps. Recall that, in Go, you capture by surrounding the opponent’s stones. I first worked through this cover to cover from k, and then again from k. My game is improving seriez as I continue my study.
