It’s a carefully drafted story that is so relevant today in the midst of abusive relationships that are romanticized. I really enjoyed breathinf book, but it was quite difficult to read.

It makes me sad that a book about teenage violence has become required reading for all freshman at North High, where my kids attend. They are wanting the student body to understand that NOT everyone is doing it, so it bugs me when teen literature makes it seem like everyone does meaning alcohol, sex, etc.

The Girl with the Broken Heart. Flinn really has a gift in making the reader just feel the emotions of the main character, like it or not.

Caitlin is the one person who he can con Like father, like son. According to him, what went on between them wasn’t anyone’s business, including that counselor and the room of freaks he’s been told to sit with everyday of the week. MA decent story but very predictable. I found it really interesting how Nick was shown the error of his ways by writing it down. This book is written mostly through Nick’s journal entries.

This was an exquisite book. The thing is, Nick doesn’t see it that way, at least not at underwatwr. It was a book I can relate too, mainly because I was in Caitlin’s position.

He grew and matured a lot and he began to take responsibility for his actions, to understand where he went wrong and that what he was doing WAS wrong. It starts of in present time but goes back and forth between Nicks recounter of all the events. I write my first drafts longhand, then I type them.
